All of a sudden, chandelier becomes the popular image on wedding scene recently.

These cookies are drawn by hand. It was difficult at first, but once I was familiar with the pattern, it did not take long to draw anymore. The cookies are not perfect, but not too bad for the first time....right???

Gum Paste Flowers - Part II

This post is the continuation of Gum Paste Part I from a few weeks ago. A lot of these flowers are my first-time. Making gum paste flowers has been my latest obession (besides cookies!!!!!).

1st Pic: Rose Bouquet - left is Carnation with filler flowers, middle is roses, and on the right, we have Daisy, Calla Lilies with filler flowers.

Gum Paste Rose Corsage

Originally I wanted to make the talisman roses (closed roses with less ruffled petals) just like this chocolate rose I made last year. I guess it's because the textures are different (chocolate vs gum paste), they turned out to be more ruffled than I expected. I was disappointed at first, however, after dusting them, they looked so much prettier than I thought.....I am loving them!!

Jorja's 2nd Birthday Treats 3 - Birthday Cake

Jorja loves monkeys, so I decided to do Curious George / Jorja cake. I don't know why, but I immediately thought of Curious George but not others like Boots at the Dora's Explorer. Anyway, the cake is a vanilla sponge cake with strawberry filling & buttercream. I am very happy with the flavour - not too sweet but very creamy. I know Jorja & her family will love it!



I went with a simple design.

Hand-Painted Goldfish, Carps & Lotus Cookies

When I wanted to make some cookies for the celebration of Chinese New year, I thought of lotus, goldfish & carps (not sure why...hahaa). I found these images online. For sure, it is much more and more difficult to use royal icing to draw these images than just by hand.

Heart Box Chocolate Cookies

Finally, I found a creative way to use my double-hearted cookie cutter. I was lazy & also forgot to decorate the chocolates in the boxes!! :(

Chinese Accents

To further personalize my blog more, I will be designing some graphics and adding Chinese texts on my blog. My husband is so creative that he gave this Chinese name "精點時光" for my blog. "精點" (delicated desserts) has a pun to "經典" (elegant / classy). I like these double meanings!! "時光" means moment.

Gum Paste Flowers - Part 1

Gum paste dries so quick! I had to take a few attempts to make the flowers look nicer. In part two, I will show you the flowers after wiring and dusting.

On this pic, you will see calla lilies (top left), roses (top right) and sweet peas (bottom).



On the 2nd pic, there are some apple blossoms,stephenosis, carnation, and rose buds.

Oriental String Work

It was both exciting and frustrating to learn the oriental string work. Exciting - because i have never done it before; frustrating - because the strings are very easy to break (even just a light touch!) and hard to get them even. At the end, I just wanted to get it done more than making it look nice.
